Barnacle bowl

These bowls have a wonderful ocean quality to them. I applied a deep Caribbean crackle glaze to the interior for a lovely contrast. The "Ribbons" bowl has yet to be glazed.

Welcome to my blog! Pietsch Pottery (by the way, it's pronounced "PEACH" like the fruit) has been in the works for barely 4 years now, but I am excited by the positive responses I have received so far! I think this will be a great place for me to upload some of my new work as well as some old standby favorites. Please check regularly for new and exciting ceramic art.

About Me

Erin Lunstrum Pietsch: Boise, Idaho, United States; Thanks for visiting! I have been a ceramic artist making functional, yet unique artwork for several years now. I received a BA in Art from the University of Montana and persued a Masters in Art Education at Boise State University. I live in the mountains of Southern Idaho with my darling husband Scott, my two great danes, Otis and Robie, and my cat Charlie.

About My Pottery

All of my functional work is high fired to about 2,500 degrees and is completly microwave and dish washer safe. I make 95% of my glazes and test them extensively by multiple microwave, oven and dishwasher uses. I have been using my work for over 4 years now and have not had any trouble!
